How to cite the site
Give the title of the page, the name of the site, the publisher, the licence, the address of the page and the date of access. For example:
“Method and sources”, eIDAS 2 · Reference, Asphalia Consulting, CC BY 4.0 licence, https://eidas.asphaliaconsulting.be/en/methode/, accessed 31 October 2026.
If you have adapted the text, add “adapted from”. To cite a specific passage of an official text, cite the text itself instead: the site’s full-text pages have an anchor for each article, paragraph and annex.
Official texts: their own regime
The CC BY 4.0 licence does not apply to the official texts reproduced or quoted. Each remains subject to the regime set by its author or publisher. The site’s rule is simple: anything that is not free of rights may be quoted or summarised, but not reproduced.
| Family of sources | What the site does with it |
|---|---|
| Union texts (regulations, implementing acts, directives, recommendations, corrigenda, judgments) | Reproduced in full, in French and English where both versions are in the corpus, with the source acknowledged |
| Belgian laws, decrees and codes | Reproduced in full, in the available languages |
| Commission and European Digital Identity Wallet documents (architecture framework, specifications, web pages, guides) | Reproduced in full where their licence allows it, otherwise quoted in extracts |
| Belgian web pages, guides, opinions, press releases, notifications and parliamentary documents | Quoted in short extracts, with a link to the original |
| ETSI, IETF, W3C, OpenID and other standards and specifications | Quoted in short extracts and summarised, with a link to the original; never reproduced in full |
| Paid ISO and CEN standards | Only cited and described in a record written by us; never reproduced |
A short extract is no more than 60 words; extracts from the same source do not exceed 150 words per page, save for a justified and flagged exception.
For example, the repository of technical standards and specifications of the European Digital Identity Wallet, of which the corpus keeps a working snapshot (non-final document), states that it is published under the CC BY 4.0 licence License.
The record of each source, in the library, states whether its full text can be read on the site and links to its official source. To reuse an official text, refer to the conditions set by its publisher.
